शब-ए-ख़ुमार-ए-शौक़-ए-साक़ी रहती है

 Hindi:

शब-ए-ख़ुमार-ए-शौक़-ए-साक़ी रहती है, जब तक है जाम और ज़ुल्फ़-ए-मैख़ाना रहती है।

याराँ नज़र मिलते ही गुलफ़ाम हो जाती है, वही सबकी निगाहों से छुपाना रहती है।

गहन तो उतरते हैं हम सब उन के दर से, वही कोई भूला हुआ अपना जहां रहता है।

Urdu:

شب خمارِ شوقِ ساقی رہتی ہے، جب تک ہے جام اور زلفِ میخانہ رہتی ہے

یاراں نظر ملتے ہی گُلفام ہو جاتی ہے، وہی سبکی نگاہوں سے چھپانا رہتی ہے

گہنے تو اترتے ہیں ہم سب اُن کے در سے، وہی کوئی بھُلا ہوا اپنا جہاں رہتا ہے

English:

Night of intoxication of the beloved's cup,

I lay down on the ground and the sky became my bed,

When I rose from the ground, I saw the world as a ball,

I was amazed at how it could revolve so steadily.

I asked the wine cup, "What kind of magic is this?"

It replied, "The world is spinning on the axis of love."

I asked the wine, "How did you intoxicate me so?"

It replied, "By filling your cup with the tears of the heartbroken."
